This will be the longest review I've written, but it will be worth it.I was hesitant to purchase "another" cruising book, but when it included the Caribbean and South Pacific, I was ready for a relaxing read. The hardest part was putting it down at the end of the day.Randy Baker writes as if you were on the boat with, he and Cheryl. The people they meet are the same people you will meet. The same conditions they experienced on the islands; you will soon experience as well.I do have a couple of comments, that I wish could have been done different, although it is too late. I do wish there would have been more in route excerpts in the book. This is primarily a destination book, which isn't bad, however, often the getting there is also the journey. The trans-pacific was excellent but also too short. The second comment is that with all the Baker's sailing experiences, this should have been a series. Randy writes so well, that for me, one book alone, is inadequate to satisfy my desire to know more about their 27 years afloat.Alright, I am cutting this short. If you are anything like me, you will appreciate Randy Baker's writing style and his ability to place you on board his 32-foot yacht. I was extremely happy that I chanced upon this book. Wanting to learn more about the cruising lifestyle I could not have picked a better, more entertaining book. Unfortunately for the author and his wife, they have had to endure some true hardships but it truly shows the resilience of cruisers and obviously lends itself to a wonderful story. I am extremely glad I read this book and would highly recommend it to others whether you have aspirations of cruising, or just want to read about those who do.
